This course draws from a number of books and online resources. In this course we will not require you to read each of these books in their entirety, but rather, we will assign specific readings from each. We do, however, encourage you to read the portions not assigned to glean extra understanding about Japan and it's unique culture.

You can determine how deeply you want to take your learning by how much further you want to pursue reading the different resources.

Please note, that many of the resources used are not written from a Christian perspective. Our goal is not to present to you Japanese Buddhism filtered through the lens of Christianity, but to try to help you understand what Japanese Buddhism claims to be and what those who follow Buddhism are seeking.
